Lagaw Ta! (Let's Travel) A P500 Summer Escapade | Taklong Island Guimaras, Philippines

It's summer season and I'm loving the heat. Here I go again exploring the island of Guimaras. This is one of the things I am grateful of, being able to experience the amazing beaches at a very low budget. With only a 15-20 minutes boat ride from Iloilo City, you should not miss this. Let me give a tour to TAKLONG ISLAND, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.

Here are a few guides for this trip:

From Iloilo City Ortiz Wharf take a pumpboat going to Jordan Guimaras for P 14.00
Upon arrival in Jordan, there are a lot of tricycle drivers you can negotiate with. The rate for tricycle going to the barangay near Taklong Island is P 800.00 vice versa. (This still depends on your negotiation with the driver)
Upon arrival in the barangay, you can rent a boat to give you a day tour for P800.00
Places you can visit while having the tour: Mangroves area, Floating cottage, Taklong island and other small islands with white sand beaches
Bring your own food. There are no sari-sari store or food establishment in the islands.
Entrance Fee in Floating cottage is P 50.00
The rest of the islands including Taklong Island does not have entrance fee but they accept donations.
You are free to use the cottages for free

There a lot of picture perfect spots you can enjoy on the island. You can also go for a short walk going to the tower and get a glimpse of the beaches and other islands surrounding Taklong.

This is one of the destinations neighboring Taklong Island, the Floating Cottage. Entrance Fee is P50.00. There are tables inside the cottage you can avail but it's on FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis. I was actually impressed by the crystal clear water and what's amazing about this is that, you're in the middle of the beach and you got to see a stretch of white sand on a specific area. It's like the white sand is only on the area around the cottage itself, and you can really see the borderline of the white sand area and the regular beach. Can you picture out what I mean? If not, better check it out personally.

It was a long weekend during the time that we visited so it's super duper crowded. We only stayed for like 30 mins. And by the way, the ENTRANCE FEE you paid is only good for 1 HOUR. There is someone in-charge of tracking the time.

Since this is a marine reservation area, you'll get a chance to pass by the mangroves area. It actually gives me goosebumps. HAHA. I feel like I'm in the Lake Placid movie setting and crocodiles will just suddenly appear. Yeah, imagination on the go. 😆
