Lagaw Ta! (Let's Travel) to Isla de Gigantes | Carles, Iloilo, Philippines

Isla de Gigantes  |  Carles, Iloilo
Nature's beauty and glamour will never fail you.  Isla Gigantes is truly a treasure.  With its crystal clear water, white sand beaches, one of a kind rock formations and mouthwatering seafood, it's worth all the travel.  The virgin beauty of the island will totally capture you.

Isla Gigantes is located approximately 19 kilometers off the coast of mainland Carles on the northeastern tip of Iloilo.  From a Iloilo City, it would take around 3-4 hours to reach the Municipality of Carles and from the port area of Carles, it will also take 2 hours of travel via pump boat to reach the island.  There is still no high-end hotels in the island to accommodate guests but there are few resorts who could do that in an affordable price.  If you're up for some island hoping, their are tour guides in very resort who can assist you with that.  Rates may vary depending on the number of passengers.

Tangke Salt Water Lagoon

This lagoon is one of my favorites during the island hoping.  It is my first time to actually see a lagoon inside a massive rock formation.  And the water, just wow!  And hey, if you're lucky enough, you might see some monkeys hanging on the trees watching you  :)

These are the type of boats fishermen usually use on their fishing.

Fishing in the major source of income of most residents in the island.

I really did enjoy the heat but I forgot to bring some sunscreen and I was like suffering the consequences for like 2 weeks!!!  So it's best to bring some sunscreen with really high SPF.  Remember to enjoy without torturing your skin too much.

Well, well, well... A summer getaway is not complete without food.  Food is love guys.  Aside from the fun-tastic sight-seeing activities, I also look forward in tasting and savoring every cuisine in each of the place I visit.  It's all part of the experience and we gotta experience it all while we can.  Yum yum yum.
