Let's start 2017 with a bang! This travel was actually a long due and finally, it's here! With all the plans we had, we still ended up changing it and doing an on-the-spot sight seeing. First stop: GUISI LIGHTHOUSE.
Guisi Lighthouse (Faro de Punta Luzaran) is a historical landmark located at Brgy. Dolores, Nueva Valencia Guimaras. From Jordan Wharf you can take Pandaraonan Jeepney for P40.00 and let the driver know to drop you off Brgy. Dolores. Then right at the intersection, you can rent Habal-Habal (motorcycle) to take you to the lighthouse. I'm not sure with the fare but just prepare P100-300. Another option you have is that from Jordan Wharf there are motorcycle drivers you can negotiate with to be your ride/guide all throughout your trip. Just a heads-up, it would cost you P400.00 one-way to the Lighthouse.
Yes, the prices are really costly, but I believe it is reasonable because of its distance and the roads are really quite challenging for the drivers. But just to be safe, I insist you seek help with their tourism officers so you can explore more options and it would really help if you have a local friend there to guide you all throughout your trip.

I've been to some lighthouses before and Guisi in Guimaras is totally what I expected it to be, just much older. And I'm pretty much sure there's a lot of history with that. Below is the lighthouse itself, very rusty and not really safe to explore with.

The lighthouse is overlooking the sea. I really did enjoy the solitude, being able to think, inhale and exhale fresh air, worth the travel. There are also several resorts around the lighthouse, so if you want to enjoy the whitesand beach, you could really check it out.

Next stop: TATLONG PULO at Brgy. Sinapsapan, Jordan, Guimaras. From Jordan Wharf, you can take tricycle for around P600.00. Then there will be 15-20 mins. of walking before you reach the resort. Please take note that the resort is not a high-end resort. You have to bring your own necessities especially your own powerbanks considering there is no electricity in the area. The main essence of this according to the locals, is to preserve the place.

Yes, Dear. It's a white-sand beach, so you better enjoy the snorkeling and all. They offer island hopping for P600.00.

The resort also offers overnight stay for P150.00. Check out the picture below. If you decided to have an overnight, you'll be sleeping on the upper part of the cottage. But before you decide on that, make sure you have flashlights and all your necessities with you because one: there is NO ELECTRICITY and two: the area is soooo far from the capital if you missed out something, it's not that easy to just travel all the way back-and-forth.

Wear comfortable shoes, always. The road is very challenging, not your ordinary rocky road.
